How is Chlorine refined? (Made more advantageous)?

Chlorine is not refined in the way that gold, copper, and silicon are refined. Instead, chlorine is obtained by electrochemically breaking down sodium chloride (this process is called electrolysis). The chlorine produced at the anode is kept separate from the hydrogen produced at the cathode, so it is essentially pure already (provided that the aqueous sodium chloride solution was pure.)
