Bronchitis with no cough?

been diagnosed with bronchitis.but havent coughed once.symptoms:almost imossible to breathe and pain.took antibiotics and been to docs three times.had this for a month.the not breathing part got me a trip to er twice.they gave me breathng treatment and steriod shot.it helped for couple hoursthen back to breathing bad agin and its permanent since i been there.what coud this be?
