Best vacuum for dog hair?

I'm just wondering what people would recommend for dog hair. My dog sheds like crazy. last year for christmas, I had asked my parents for a vacuum that would work well with dog hair. They bought me a Hoover Windtunnel Cyclonic, which I just don't think was meant for all this dog hair b/c it does not do a great job. What do you use and do you like it? Prices would be good to know as well.
